The stain kit is based on the Verhoeff's technique for staining elastic fibres. For the diagnosis of atrophy, thinning and loss of elastic tissue, as well as for the detection of breaks, splitting and reduplication of elastic fibres.
Staining result: elastic fibres are stained blue-black to black, with red collagen and yellow background
